IGsty.com Review: What This Instagram Downloader Offers

Last Updated on October 5, 2026 by Fame Katha Editorial Team

Introduction

IGsty.com is an online Instagram downloader built for saving publicly available Instagram media to a phone, tablet, or computer.

The idea is pretty simple.

Copy an Instagram link. Paste it into the website. Then download the available file.

IGsty currently promotes tools for Instagram videos, photos, Reels, Stories, Highlights, carousel posts, and content still labelled on the site as IGTV. The service says users do not need an IGsty account or an Instagram login to use its downloader.

That sounds straightforward. Still, there is more to check.

IGsty is a third-party website. Its ownership is not clearly presented to visitors, its privacy policy allows several forms of usage-data collection, and an independent security scan rates the site as low risk rather than completely risk-free.

Here is what is actually known.

What Does the Website Do?

IGsty works as a browser-based downloader.

Users take a URL from Instagram and enter it into the downloader. IGsty then attempts to retrieve the media linked to that public Instagram page.

No desktop program is needed.

No special app is advertised as necessary.

The site says its downloader works across smartphones, tablets, Windows computers, and Macs. It also says videos are provided in MP4 format.

The important limit is public access.

IGsty’s own FAQ says videos from public Instagram accounts can be downloaded, while content from private accounts cannot.

What Can You Download?

There are several tools under the same website.

Instagram Videos

The main downloader focuses heavily on Instagram video saving.

IGsty says users can copy a public Instagram video URL, paste it into the site’s download field, and save the returned video.

The site advertises HD or original-quality downloads, though actual quality can depend on what media Instagram makes available to the downloader.

Instagram Reels

Reels have their own downloader page.

The process stays almost identical. Find a Reel, copy its URL, paste the link into IGsty, then use the available download button.

IGsty says this tool is free and intended mainly for saving content from your own account. Its Reel page also warns against infringing another person’s privacy or material.

Instagram Photos

Photos can be saved through the site’s photo downloader.

This can be useful where someone wants an original copy of media they have posted or another image they have permission to save.

IGsty also advertises carousel support, so posts containing several media items may be handled through its carousel downloader.

Instagram Stories

Story downloading is another listed feature.

IGsty tells users to copy a Story link, paste it into the tool, and then save the returned image or media file. The Story page says the tool is intended for content from the user’s own account and does not support violating another person’s privacy or materials.

Highlights

The main website also advertises downloads for Instagram Stories and Highlights.

No software installation is presented as necessary.

IGTV

IGsty still has an IGTV section.

That wording feels dated because Instagram retired the standalone IGTV branding years ago. Still, IGsty continues to label some long-form Instagram video downloading features as IGTV.

So users may see old Instagram terminology on the site even though the downloader itself remains active.

How to Use the Downloader

The site’s own instructions are short:

1. Open Instagram and find the public post, video, Reel, or other supported media.
2. Copy the Instagram URL.
3. Open IGsty.com and paste the URL into its download box.
4. Press the download option.
5. Save the available file to your device.

There is no IGsty registration stage listed.

That keeps the process quick.

Does It Require Your Instagram Password?

According to the website, no.

IGsty states that its Instagram downloader does not require users to sign into their Instagram account through IGsty.

This matters.

A third-party downloader asking for an Instagram password carries a very different risk from one that only processes a public URL.

Users should still be careful. If a page, advertisement, popup, or linked website suddenly asks for Instagram credentials, check what site you are actually using before entering anything.

Is IGsty.com Free?

The website says yes.

Its homepage advertises free downloads with no stated download limit and says users do not need to pay to download Instagram videos.

Independent analysis also found third-party advertising on the website, which gives a likely explanation for how a free service can support itself. MalwareTips reported advertising infrastructure during its September 2026 inspection.

There is no verified evidence from the sources checked showing a normal paid subscription plan.

Does It Add Watermarks?

IGsty claims it does not add a watermark to downloaded Instagram videos or Reels.

That is the website’s claim.

It should not be confused with removing an existing watermark that was already part of the original uploaded media.

Is IGsty.com Safe?

This needs a careful answer.

A recent MalwareTips scan dated September 18, 2026 gave the site a 78/100 Low Risk rating.

The same scan reported:

• 0 detections across 93 antivirus engines
• no major browser threat-list warning
• no credential-harvesting forms observed
• a valid encrypted HTTPS connection
• Cloudflare infrastructure
• third-party advertising on the page

Those are positive signals.

But they are not a promise.

Security conditions can change. Advertisements can also send visitors to websites outside IGsty’s direct control.

The better approach is simple: use the normal website functions, avoid suspicious popups, do not install unexpected software, and never enter sensitive account credentials into an unrelated page.

What Does Its Privacy Policy Say?

This area deserves attention.

IGsty’s privacy policy says the company is based in the United States. It also says several types of information may be collected.

These can include an email address, first name, last name, IP address, browser type, browsing history, and other usage data.

Cookies and similar tracking technologies may also be used.

The policy says collected information can be used to maintain the service, manage requests, contact users, and provide information about other goods or services unless users opt out where applicable.

So “no Instagram login required” does not mean “no data is collected.”

They are two different things.

Who Owns the Website?

Public ownership information is limited.

A recent independent scan reported that the operator is not publicly identified beyond general contact information. The same scan says the domain was registered through URL Solutions, Inc. on September 11, 2024.

IGsty’s privacy policy describes the company as being based in the United States, while its Terms identify Alaska, United States, under the definition of “Country.”

A verified founder, CEO, management team, registered-company identity, valuation, revenue figure, or employee count was not established through the public sources checked.

Those details should not be guessed.

An Odd Detail in the Terms Page

There is one timeline detail readers may notice.

IGsty’s Terms and Conditions page says it was last updated on February 6, 2021.

Yet independent domain-registration data used by MalwareTips gives the current IGsty.com domain registration date as September 11, 2024.

This does not prove anything improper.

It may simply mean the legal document came from an older template or earlier version of a service.

Still, the dates do not match neatly.

How Popular Is the Site?

Semrush estimated 193,470 visits during August 2026.

Its estimate for July 2026 was about 387,640 visits, while June was estimated at 244,210. That placed August traffic about 50% below July’s estimate.

Semrush also reported an Authority Score of 17, 184 referring domains, and 335 backlinks in its August snapshot.

Most estimated visitors during that month came from India.

Semrush placed India at about 83.97% of measured traffic, followed by Indonesia, Tunisia, Nigeria, and Brazil.

These numbers are estimates.

They are not IGsty’s private Google Analytics records, so traffic can differ from the site’s actual internal figures.

Is It an Official Instagram Service?

No official Meta or Instagram relationship was verified during this review.

IGsty should be viewed as a third-party downloader.

That distinction matters because using a third-party service does not give a user new rights over somebody else’s photos, videos, or other media.

Copyright and Privacy Matter

IGsty itself says its tools are meant to help people download content from their own accounts and says it does not support privacy or material infringement.

Downloading something also does not automatically give someone permission to republish it.

A creator can still hold rights to the original photo, video, artwork, music, or other material.

If the media belongs to someone else, getting permission before reposting or using it commercially is the safer choice.

Main Benefits

The appeal is easy to understand.

It runs in a browser. There is no IGsty account to create. Public Instagram URLs can be processed without giving the downloader your Instagram password.

The site also puts several media types under one roof, including photos, videos, Reels, Stories, Highlights, carousels, and older IGTV-labelled content.

For someone saving their own public Instagram content, that setup can be convenient.

Things to Keep in Mind

There are still some limits.

Private-account downloads are not supported. The operator is not clearly identified in the public information reviewed. The privacy policy allows collection of usage and personal information. Ads are present. Some wording on the site uses older Instagram terms.

None of those points alone proves the site is unsafe.

They simply give users more context.

Final Thought

IGsty.com is a free third-party Instagram downloader that currently handles public videos, photos, Reels, Stories, Highlights, carousel posts, and older IGTV-labelled content.

Its biggest attraction is simplicity.

Paste a link. Get the file.

The site says no Instagram login is required, and a September 2026 independent security check found no antivirus detections across 93 engines. Still, the same report rated it Low Risk, not completely risk-free.

Privacy deserves attention too.

IGsty’s own policy says IP addresses, browser information, cookies, usage information, and some personal details may be collected.

For personal downloads of content you own or have permission to save, the service offers a straightforward option. For somebody else’s media, copyright and privacy rights still apply.
